James has been putting ink on paper for more than 40 years, while nurturing a passion for international ministry.

The Indiana, Pennsylvania, native received Jesus Christ as Savior and
Lord at the age of 9 after seeing the change in his parents’ lives when
they were born again some months earlier.

He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Pennsylvania State University and 30 post-graduate hours in mass communication at the University of Oklahoma.

He was a newspaper editor and designer for sixteen years with such publications as The Arizona Republic, The Chicago Sun-Times and The Pittsburgh Press.

The next four years he was a university journalism instructor and director of student publications. During that time, he began free-lance editing book manuscripts, which launched him into book publishing.

After his ordination in 1988, he served for 10 years as pastor of a small Native American church in Oklahoma, while working full-time managing book projects from concept to completed books in the warehouse for several publishers.

Along with Dr. Tom Durfey, he co-authored the Religious Broadcast Management Handbook published by Zondervan.

In 1998, he moved to Colorado to begin serving in international ministry. So far, he has been to 22 countries. He believes nationals know best how to reach their own cultures with the Gospel, so his focus is in equipping nationals to do the work of the ministry. He also has trained nationals from 16 countries in how to have successful publishing ministries in their own countries.

Since 2009, James has been serving joyfully with Community Bible Study combining his passions for publishing and international ministry.
