Scotland Report - Bob and Jackie Kearby
Good things are happening everywhere we go!
When
you follow God’s plan it’s incredible how things work out.
He even takes care of the smallest detail like bringing a person unexpectedly
to the house where you are staying who could cut Bob’s hair when
it was most needed. With each trip (this is our fourth to Scotland) our
faith and trust in the Lord is strengthened. Prayer is the key.
Why do we go back
to Scotland and the UK at least twice a year? It’s the people and
the sharing of the CBSI story that is so exciting. Deep friendships are
developing wit
h
our original contacts and new friends are being made with each trip. Our
old contacts resulted in refreshed interest and many exciting new prospects
were generated. A team in Buckie was finalized as we met with their small
group for the fourth time. They meet at the Admiral, a pub in Findochty,
where the owner and patrons regularly stop by to listen and ask questions
– a unique venue for getting people interested in in-depth Bible
study.
Helping Grace Wort (UK Training & Development), and Helen Jane and Pete Peters (our team mates) train 14 class leaders in Glasgow in April was definitely a highlight. There are now three classes in Scotland – Edinburgh/Leith, Glasgow and Buckie – and good things are happening everywhere we go. From Carlisle and Dalston England in the south to Banff, Buckie, Peterhead and Portsoy in the north God is beginning to bring in the harvest.
We’ve been told that we are very fortunate to be seeing such positive results in such a short time – three classes within the first three years with many more promising prospects. It has been said that perseverance overcomes resistance and that is certainly true especially when the Lord is your daily companion. We are very encouraged by what we see happening throughout Scotland and the UK. Our prayers are definitely being answered.
