CALEB CONNECTION |
|||||||
The Caleb Connection ministry began in the summer of 1994 as an effort to enlist individuals and couples into the work of CBS International within a specific country or region. It is a distinct ministry within CBS International, named after Caleb, an individual in the Old Testament who dedicated himself wholeheartedly to God's purpose, even when he could have chosen a life of ease. Within the context of Community Bible Study International, a Caleb is someone who wants to actively participate in the advancement of the CBS International program and has sufficient financial independence to work without a salary. Financial support, however, can be raised to cover travel and administrative expenses. Caleb Connection members usually spend two to four weeks, two to four times a year initiating CBS International work or supporting an existing CBS International program. It is important that a Caleb be a self-starter, possess a pioneer spirit, have good health and be able to travel, and demonstrate an appreciation and respect for cultural differences. It is critical that a Caleb be committed to getting others into the Scriptures. Calebs are typically involved in pioneering CBS International classes in new countries, locating translators and printers, organizing classes, identifying potential class leaders, leading training sessions, helping establish a national organization and helping identify and train national leaders. |
