Country in Focus: Brazil

"THE HOPE OF BRAZIL: JESUS!"

That is what some bumper stickers say on the back of some cars in Brazil. When asked what that meant, some Brazilians said that the government failed them, the police failed them and families are destroyed by crime and corruption.

Yelone Clague has been working in Brazil since 1977 when she did her first Leadership Training there. Since then, Brazil has been like a roller coaster. We started with about 10 classes, grew to 34 and at present, we have 23 classes in six different cities. Because the size of Brazil – and a population of almost 187 million people – we have just touched the surface.

The people are hungry and searching for answers, and they have been impacted by the Word of God through CBS International. We continue to pray that God will raise up leaders for Brazil and that they will be willing to serve nationally. It looks like we will be working in new areas for 2010 and, as the work grows, more leaders are needed.
