I will always be thankful for that precious friend who pushed me into coming to
a Bible study called CBS. Before her invitation 17 years ago, I had never heard
of Community Bible Study. One thing she didn’t know at that time was that God was
using her to call me to share my great passion for the Word of God with others.
It started when I was a little girl who had great admiration for her mother’s dedication
and commitment to the Bible. As a matter of fact, it was my mom who taught me about
the Lord Jesus Christ and led me to accept Him as my Lord and Savior. She read the
Bible every year for as long as I could remember. On the weekends she would go out
with her Bible and meet with different groups to study the Bible with them. I asked
the Lord to give me a love and passion for studying His Word and then sharing It
with others. Well, for over 30 years He has done that very thing.
When the opportunity opened for me to teach the Bible in a CBS class I thought I
had arrived at the place the Lord wanted me to be. If only then I knew that He was
preparing me to go back to South America and take this precious book to the land
where I was born and lived a great part of my life.
To have the privilege and opportunity to be the Regional Director for South America
with Community Bible Study International has been the greatest joy in my life. Why?
Because the Bible is God’s unchanging Word. It is written for all times, countries
and cultures.
God’s message does not change; methods change almost continually from time to time,
from country to country, from culture to culture. If there is confusion regarding
obeying the Lord, we need to take a break and go back to the Bible.
I never imagined how outrageously joyful it could be to serve the Lord through CBSI.
To have the opportunity to see so many lives impacted by a Bible study. To hear
people saying over and over, “I don’t know where I’d be if I hadn’t discovered the
Word of God.”
Let me know how I can help you to join a CBSI study in South America, or maybe to
train you to start one!
